The Gateway Career Center is located on the second floor of Hogg Hall, which is situated directly next to Farinon Student Center on the Quad. Hogg Hall is not ADA-compliant and may be inaccessible for some. If you need assistance, please contact Gateway at (610) 330-5115 for an accommodation.

With the exception of holiday closures, the Gateway Career Center offers student and alumni support year-round. During the academic year, Gateway is open Monday through Friday, 8:45am to 5:00pm. During the summer, Lafayette College’s administrative offices shift to a summer schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:15am to 4:30pm and Friday, 8:15am to 2:00pm.

Yes, the Gateway Career Center is happy to partner with faculty, staff, and student organizations to host career programs and can also provide support to campus colleagues who are coordinating alumni, employer, or student career-related panels. Faculty can also request a report of major-specific after-graduation data. Yes, all students are assigned a Gateway Career Counselor upon enrolling at Lafayette. Students have access to the support of their Gateway Counselor throughout the entirety of their Lafayette experience.

Students receive communications from their Gateway Counselors at the start of each semester. You can contact the Gateway Career Center at 610-330-5115, or stop by 201 Hogg Hall, to confirm your Gateway Counselor. When you schedule an appointment through Handshake, your assigned Gateway Counselor’s name and availability will display.

Absolutely not! We are eager to work with all students. Whether you have a clear career goal, have not yet begun to consider your career interests, or are somewhere in between, the Gateway Career Center team is here to support you! We will meet you where you are in the career exploration and planning process and will work with you at a pace that matches your needs.

No, engaging with Gateway is not a required component of your Lafayette experience. However, working with your Gateway Career Counselor and participating in Gateway programs throughout your time at Lafayette can lead to professional growth, career clarity, and a higher likelihood of having after-Lafayette plans established within six months of graduation.
