THE MISSION ASPIRE to Autonomy Inc. is the Lehigh Valley’s frontline response to trauma and exploitation. We do not wait for clients to come to an office; we go to them. As a CIS Intern, you will join our High Impact HUB Team, working directly in the community to stabilize lives through our Wellness Hubs and REACH Program (Restore. Empower. Advocate. Connect. Heal.).
THE ROLE (Dual Track) This internship adapts to your education level. You will be assigned to one of two functional lanes:
Lane A: Resource Navigation & Outreach
Execute the “Warm Handoff”: Serve as the first point of contact at our Wellness Hubs. Your goal is to turn a food distribution transaction into a transformational connection to the REACH ecosystem.
Systemic Navigation: Conduct intakes to identify specific barriers (housing, legal, linguistic) and connect families to essential wraparound services.
Advocacy & Data: Document service gaps—specifically within the Latino and Hispanic communities—to inform our grant writing and policy advocacy.
Lane B: Outreach Therapy & Psychoeducation
“Sidewalk Therapy”: Provide immediate, short-term mental health stabilization and crisis intervention for individuals at our outreach sites.
Group Facilitation: Design and lead psychoeducational groups on trauma recovery and emotional regulation in community settings.
Clinical Bridge: Conduct biopsychosocial assessments to identify when a neighbor is ready to transition from community support to long-term care at our Mental Health Clinic.
