Corpus Christi, Texas (est. pop. 325,000) is a coastal city located 130 miles southeast of San Antonio on the Gulf of Mexico. The City is seeking a City Architect to lead staff, manage projects, and oversee engineering designs for facilities projects. The incumbent will review plans as needed, provide guidance for facilities management, manage associated budgets, and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on a diverse portfolio of projects, including high profile projects within the Engineering Services Department.
A bachelor’s degree in architecture or a closely related field and at least six (6) years of related professional experience as a professional architect with three (3) years of administrative and supervisory responsibilities is required. The qualified candidate will be a registered Architect in the state of Texas or have the ability to secure Texas Architect registration within 6 months of employment and possess or be able to secure a Class C Texas Driver’s License. A master’s degree and ten (10) years related professional experience preferred.
The City of Corpus Christi offers a generous, market competitive salary and benefits that includes a base salary in the $118,325 to $146,963 range. The starting salary will depend on the qualifications.
