Design Consultant, Creative Closets

>> My name is Sherry Hammond and I am a design consultant for a closet company. And I basically help people get organized, create closet systems, whether it's closets, pantries, laundry rooms, wine cellars, offices, anything, anything that they need for their project. And basically a client will call us, and at that point I will go out to their home, look at their space, ask them questions about what is needed, whether it's a closet or a laundry room or whatever. Once I measure the space, inventory, take all my notes, I'll create a design for them. I have a computer and we use Cabinet Vision programming. And I basically draw out the walls, the floor plan, the elevations, put in the obstacles, the outlets, windows, doors, all of that kind of stuff. And from there, and, you know, with reviewing my notes, I start placing the, whether it's a desk unit, whether it's a closet, whether it's a laundry room, whatever needs to be done, I just start placing it within the room in the program and that. And then they'll be able to pick out their products, their colors, drawer type, door types, handles, all that kind of stuff. And once they figure out their design, complete that design, then we get the products ordered. And usually withing about 4 weeks, we have a team of installers that go out installing there. I'm a little more hands on than some designers have been. I actually go out to the job sites a lot to really see how everything is going in. It could take anywhere, from a small closet, it might take 3 or 4 hours, to a large closet, big project, could take 3, 4, 5 days, just depending on the size of the project. And, you know, there's times I'm in and out visiting them, just to kind of, you know, see how things are going, making sure the client's happy with everything.
