My name is Bree Dalager and I'm the recruiter for the City of Minneapolis. So I recruit for all 23 departments in the city, everything from police and fire to 911, HR, finance, internal auditor, et cetera, et cetera. So I work with our HR generalist teams which work with individual departments, they are attuned to the hiring needs and the workforce structures, et cetera, of their departments. They can see what's coming up, what's in the budget, resignations, terminations, retirements, and we have an idea of what we're looking for in the future. They'll come to me and say, we have this coming up, here's what we're looking for, and then if there's any kind of targeted recruiting as well, I work on that, whether it's targeted for a particularly hard to fill job, or demographics, if it's in a department that has very low diversity numbers, we try to increase the diversity of our applicant pool in order to make sure that we're reaching everybody. I attend a lot of job fairs, lot of community events, I'm out in the community quite a bit, I work a lot with community organizations, neighborhood groups, nonprofits, schools, all kinds of different places. So preparation for job fairs, I make sure that I have all of my various brochures advertising stuff about all the different departments, different initiatives that we have. We have a number of different training programs that we offer. Got a bunch of chotchkis, I got some pens, I got some bags, I got, you know, little things that are branded with City of Minneapolis information. So make sure I have all of those. And then I put together sheet of our current openings. Our openings do change pretty rapidly. We post at least two to three new positions every single week, so that changes. Have the basic information, including the deadline on those, as well as, some that are coming up. And then probably the most important thing for job fairs, because we might not have a job open at the time that somebody is necessarily looking for, they're able to sign up for job alerts. So I give them information about how to that, so that they can be aware right away when we post something that they are interested in.
