What gets you excited to go to work each day? The people that I work with because they are so motivated and passionate!

What key strengths are necessary to be successful in entering this career field? Being driven, a team player, and detail-oriented

Is education beyond a Lafayette degree required to pursue this path? No, not necessarily. However, those who go into marketing often end up pursuing an MBA.

What specific experiences during your time at Lafayette made the greatest impact on your professional path? I participated in the externship program and shadowed a Lafayette alum who worked at a pharmaceutical company. I had always been interested in a career in healthcare, but I knew I didn’t want to go into research or become a provider. This was the perfect opportunity to explore what other careers were out there that aligned with my interests. I also took advantage of the supportive career counseling offered at Lafayette, and frequently met with my career counselor Maureen Walz. She helped me prepare for interviews, reviewed my resume, and so much more!

What advice do you have for students interested in pursuing your career field? Apply to rotational development programs – these are incredible opportunities for new grads to enter competitive industries and gain hands-on experience. Take advantage of the career center at Lafayette! Meet with your counselor, and network with alumni as much as you can.

How do you enjoy spending your free time when not at work? I love hiking, biking, and enjoying the beautiful nature in North Carolina.

What was your favorite spot on Lafayette’s campus when you were a student? My favorite spot on Lafayette’s campus was the quad on a sunny day!
