To join our team as an Energy Engineer I. As an Energy Engineer I, you will support the development and delivery of energy efficiency programs by providing engineering calculations, building energy simulations, and utility program technical design and assistance. You will assist with the design and development of technical strategies, conduct analysis to inform and recommend energy savings, develop plans, and provide reporting that contributes to the success of client programs. You will write and inform technical documents and publications, and conduct quality reviews of content. You will provide general project oversight, quality control/assurance, and continuously inform customers and project team of updates and necessary adjustments. Assist with business development efforts and proactively seek new project opportunities.

Calculate energy savings for projects in our programs using standard engineering principles including physics, mechanics, fan laws, thermodynamics, algebra, and statistics
Provide support for experienced engineers on: custom and M&V projects, calculator and tool development, training material development, and additional projects as needed
Interact with customers and project teams to reach collective goals
In this exciting career opportunity, you will have…
B.S Engineering Degree
EIT/FE preferred
Experience with and/or interest in learning building energy simulation software such as EnergyPlus, Energy Pro, IES-VE and eQUEST
Knowledge of energy/building codes and/or frameworks
Ability to apply basic physics/engineering principles to energy consumption, production, and flows in building systems
Primary Responsibilities:
Generate clear verbal and written communication appropriately geared to an intended audience
Apply basic physics and engineering principles to use and calculate metrics such as: system energy use, building EUI, energy savings, insulation and U values, equipment efficiency ratings, effectiveness, COP, efficacy, etc.
This position does require regular travel on site monthly.
Compensation Range
$54,600.00 – $81,900.00
