Job Overview
The Wilson Area LINCS Family Center, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) organization serving the Wilson Area School District community. We are looking for a talented student fellow to work closely with the community coordinator to support the Wilson Area Communities That Care Coalition initiative.
Responsibilities for Student Fellow
● Learn about Communities that Care, the Social Development Strategy, the Pennsylvania Youth Survey, the work of the state prevention network, and risk and protective factors
● Work with the community coordinator to research funding opportunities collaborate on grant narratives in order to continue the work of the coalition
● Interact with potential stakeholders and organizations through Zoom meetings or phone calls to create interest in attending coalition meetings and to look for collaboration opportunities
● Assist coalition work groups in assigned tasks such as planning the August Touch A Truck event and Backpack distribution, creating flyers, press releases, and web copy, and representing the coalition at events
● Possibility of assisting at the Summer Playground Program if clearances are on file
Qualifications for Student Fellow
● Interest in education, non-profit work, systems change, community organizing, or a related field
● Ability to attend and support some of the coalition meetings as schedule allows (meeting days and times will vary)
● Comfortable working with Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, etc.
● 1-2 years of experience with professional writing
● Interest in learning how to utilize Canva Pro to create content and meeting documents ● Ability to commute within the greater Easton Area
Details:
When: July 1, 2024- August 11, 2024
Compensation: $10.00 per hour plus housing if needed
Hours: Approximately 15-20 hours per week
Where: Hybrid work, in person meetings in the Wilson/Palmer/Easton area, or at The Wilson Area LINCS Family Center, 2400 Firmstone Street, Easton, PA 18042
