Ambassadors act as a valuable source of information and strengthen the Career Center’s engagement with the Lafayette community on a peer-to-peer level. A bit about me: I come to Lafayette from over 6000 miles away, having spent 18 years of life in the bustling metropolitan of Lahore. While coming from a family saturated with lawyers, I’m currently aspiring towards a career in the financial services industry. At Lafayette, I’ve fervently participated in the Investment Club, currently serving on its executive board as the Head Analyst. When not working, I can often be found on the squash court, in the gym, or tucked in some corner pouring over a new book.

A bit about me: Alongside being a Gateway Ambassador, I am a member of the Mar-keys A cappella group, a McKelvy Scholar, as well as a Dyer Fellow for entrepreneurship. Currently, I am very passionate about developmental economics and its applications within communities to solve wicked problems. This past summer, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Răzeni, Moldova for an Economic Empowerment and Global Learning Project (EEGLP) in which I learned the importance of encouraging agency and voice in order to build upon the aspirations of others. In addition, my passion for entrepreneurship has led me to co create a nonprofit that aims to provide online educational pathways for indigenous communities in Ecuador. Overall, my advice to students regarding career development is to seize every opportunity presented to you, from events and talks, to clubs and organizations. The more you explore, the more aware you will be when it comes to pursuing a future career path.

A bit about me: I am a member of the Arts and Entertainment Committee of the Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF), the Lafayette Investment Club, the Lafayette Happiness Project, and the Women in Economics Club. My current career goals include large-corporation finance and accounting or economic planning, with a focus on travel and hospitality. My advice to Lafayette students is to jump in! Join a few different clubs, meet with your advisor and other resources often, and get started with Gateway early. Everyone loves to share stories and experiences, and you never know whose will strike a chord with your own plan! Your community is your greatest resource to be exposed to new pathways.

A bit about me: In addition to being a Gateway Ambassador, I am also involved in greek life and LEAP (Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection). I am currently pursuing a career in finance or data analysis. This summer I completed an internship at Teknor Apex in Rhode Island working with data analysts and gained insight on the practical use of data in a business environment. I’m also passionate about teaching and peer tutoring, and had the opportunity to tutor an Easton Area Middle School student in the fall. I am excited to spread the word to other students about how useful Gateway is. It is so easy to get started with them and I can’t stress how helpful all of the wonderful staff and peer advisors are.
